I was inspired to create some homemade gift tags. Well we really don’t use the word homemade for crafts anymore. The new term is DIY ( Do It Yourself). This is a great way to save money and create a personal touch to holiday gifts. You can pull this off even if you can not draw free hand. Look for a image to create, their are thousands to choose from. I picked My Little Pony, because that is what the gift will be. I have also made Care Bears and Lego Chima. Once you selected your image, start to draw it in pencil first. Or if you can’t draw, just print out the image from an online coloring pages. Then outline with a black fine point sharpie marker. Then color as desired and cut into any shape you want. For this project I chose a square, but for other holidays like Valentine’s Day you can cut out a heart. Tape or glue the square onto a sheet of card-stock, construction paper, or any festive background you want. You can also get more ideas from Pinterest. Your almost done, I know it’s so easy ! Then write out whatever words you want , I used the classic To and From. You will love this money saving trick. I would love to hear your ideas and creative touches you added to your DIY gift tags.

I have been practicing crocheting squares for a few weeks now. I still have to work on the last row, to keep it from curving and fanning out. This hand bag was a result of from one of the squares that didn’t turn out great. I even took the opportunity to practice on a pom pom. It looks fairly good considering it was not supposed to become a little purse. And my niece is non the wiser. She absolutely loved the bag. She had it on and played with it as soon as I gave it to her. I also gave her a few hats for her large barbie heads. The hats I made were to big for a baby but to small for my niece. So I told her she could use them to play with her dolls. Again another winner. So please never throw away your mistake crafts that you make. Just think of some other way to use them.
